Ambergate Kennels and Cattery has recently been awarded a 5 star rating!
DEFRA has recently taken over the licencing of animals both kennels and catteries and also all businesses involving animals. From 1st October this year every home boarder, breeder, horse riding establishment as well as many others will require a licence. These licences will involve regular inspections in order to comply with the new rules. Much of this is a result of the 2006 animal welfare act. The dubious well publicised issues around puppy breeding and particularly the importation of puppies will now come under much greater scrutiny.
A star rating system has also been introduced for all animal related businesses. We are happy to be able to announce we have complied with all the new regulations and have achieved the maximum five star rating for boarding both cats and dogs.
We are really pleased as our staff team have worked really hard to achieve this.
